As founder of National Stress Awareness Day in 1999, it is my great pleasure and honour to be invited back to ISMA to take up the position of Chair once again and I am really excited to be back on board spearheading our next stress awareness day.

National Stress Awareness Day 2015 was one of our most successful yet, with over 121,000 comments on Twitter and social media being flooded with information and recognition of stress both in the UK and overseas.

Many of our practitioners organised events throughout the UK and have reported back on their success, so a shout out to all of you and a BIG ‘well done’ for all those countless people who took the opportunity to get involved.

Newsletter Issue 1: Information about ISMA (UK)

The International Stress Management Association[UK] ISMAUK is a registered charity and the lead professional body for workplace and personal Stress Management, Wellbeing and Performance. ISMA promotes sound knowledge and best practice, nationally and internationally.

NSAD 2014 tmISMA activities include Stress Management training accreditation, national and regional events plus CPD for members including professional updates. Our charitable work also encompasses the promotion and organisation of National Stress Awareness Day that has been held every year in November, for the last 18 years.

ISMA’s Role

The role of ISMA since its establishment over 30 years ago is to:

  • Raise the profile of stress-related issues both in the home and workplace
  • Combat the stigma often associated with personal stress
  • Change attitudes towards the management of stress in the world of work

Through the register of professional practitioners, ISMA (UK) offers support in the form of training courses and coaching both to individuals as well as to commerce and industry.
